Hello people, here is a new blog post about art stuff. Sorry haven't written for a while, little inconveniences have contributed to this neglect such as my actual job sucking giant ass & imminent homelessness, but as all the other pencil-monkeys out there will know, this matters not a jot as long as the art gets done ('finally', i hear editors & writers adding in unison)

 I've just finished another episode of the adventures of Jikan , time travelling samurai demon-hunter, as ever penned by the ever-readable Mark 'The Shark' Howard, entitled 'The Demon At The End of Time'. Before i started i had a brief look at the last Jikan episode i drew just to get back in the swing of things , & realised the last page i'd drawn never saw the light of day because Davey C (editor of 'Paragon' anthology - home of Jikan ) altered the end at the end of The Jikan Chronicles Book 2 in order to tie in with the beginning of Book 3. So here it is.

I gave Jikan a more 'hardcore' look in this, more than anything to differentiate the 'Jikans' (this being the 'far future' Jikan, i believe the story gets a bit 'Back To The Future Part 2' later, altho i'm still in the dark myself). 

Anyway, just letting u guys know what i've been up to, if you're good i might even give u a little preview of the next strip

Wassup?

 Hello people, que pasa? Just letting u know what i've been up to comics-wise .This is a panel from 'Jamie Swift' Episode 3 of Dirk Van Dom's 'Mammoth Jack', in which it's Jamie's turn to come to the rescue of Psychopathic Mutant Donkey sidekick Duncan, all of which you'll be able to read in the next 'Vanguard' comic anthology

And this is our very own El Bigote leaping into action whilst confronted by a band of vicious Muertoads which i'm working on this minute!

The Jikan Chronicles Part Two

Here it is! It's finally available here, the second collection of the time-travelling demon-slaying samurai's adventures & let me tell you, it;s a corker! Now obviously you may think i'm biased as it does contain almost 33(! i know!) pages of artwork by me, that being Dirk Van Dom's Gryphon romp 'Jikan's Bounty' & Mark Howard's flashback origins story 'Shimasu' and also a page from said writer's story 'The Flood' (mentioned in another post). But also in it's almost 90 action-packed pages feature artwork by Davey Candlish (whose lovely cover is shown here), Chris Askham, Dustin Parr to name but a few and stories by Matthew McLaughlin & Chris Cronin aswell as the others mentioned above. El Dia Del Bigote!

It's getting very close to the release of my first ever comic, written by Matthew 'Locust' McLaughlin & illustrated by me, lettered by Dave 'Bolt o1.' Evans who also contributes artistically aswell as Owen 'Foxy' Watts, Christopher Geary, Stewart Davies, 2000ad's own Grant Perkins & last but not least Matt 'Grimm' Soffe who inked & coloured my pencils for the wraparound cover (as seen here) & done a beautiful job of it!

Kick-Ass!!

Yo! Just finished my episode of 'Mammoth Jack' for Dirk Van Dom's 'Vanguard' comic anthology. Featured here is Duncan, an eye-patch-wearing psychotic donkey (don't ask me) who's getting a little miffed about something or other. Hello peeps! Here is a couple of magazines i have contributed to. The first is Hallowscream 3, a totally free online horror anthology with 112 pages of Halloween spookiness including 'Dead-Time Story' with art by me from a script by Scott Hartman.
The second is Something Wicked, a ..er..wicked horror anthology from the people who bring you the excellent 2000ad fanzines Zarjaz & Dogbreath aswell as sci fi anthology Futurequake. My strip in this is called 'Voices' & is scripted by Scott Schmidtt (all the Scotts it seems).
Anyway please follow the links & avail yourself of these lovely publications as they are chock full of quality frights aswell as my own meagre contributions.

Finally finished it, Matthew McLaughlin's Wild West Zombie Tale 'El Bigote; A Tequila-Drenched Reckoning' is completed sans lettering soon to appear in an online Pulp Comic Anthology.
Here is a taster panel of El Bigote's foes, (from left to right minus zombie ostrich) Ojos Locos, Tener Fojos and Craneo look confused as El Bigote evades them on the rooftops.
